Our local public pool is located in Jordan beside the Lions Club Skating arena. Port Dalhousie also has a pier, small beach and swimming located by a nice area of shops, restaurants and pubs. A 30 minute road trip will take you to lovely sandy beaches on Lake Erie. We will be happy to provide you with directions.

Is the Cottage a private home ?
The cottage is the orginal 1835 farm homestead. Approximately 30 years ago, previous owners built a large addition behind and beside the original farm house. The property owners now reside in the home. The cottage and the owners residence are adjoined by a 6 foot long common wall which houses an extra 2 piece bathroom and laundry facilities.

What do we need to bring to the Cottage ?
In addition to your normal vacations toys and clothing, just bring consumbiles and personal grooming products. The cottage kitchen is fully equipped with pots, dishes, cutlery etc. Bedding and linen is also provided.

Is the Cottage located on a farm ?
Yes we operate a certified organic fruit farm. Guestsenjoy the "fruits of our labour" in the form of seasonal fresh fruit and homemade jam. As a working farm guests may see us operate tractors and there will be farm helpers around the property.

Are guests allowed to walk around the farm ?
Absolutely ! we just ask that you do not enter the barn or go into any of the fields with animals. Our cattle and horse are quick to notice an open gate :-( Also please note that livestock fences have electric fencing on the inside

Are there laundry facilities ?
Yes ! located in the share portion of the two homes. Your hostess will be pleased to show you how to use our environmentally friendly washing machine. We also have an outdoor clothes line for fresh air drying. Please bring bio-degradable laundry soap.

Is the water safe to drink ?
Yes ! We catch rainwater and store it in a large cistern. This water is passed through a filter and UV light prior to coming out your water. Guests who are used to city water may miss the choroline taste :-( People with small children may wish to bring bottled water as any change in water change upset the digestive system.

Cottage bookings do not include any food or housekeeping.

How do we deal with a septic system ?
Like most country places, there is no civic sewer system. Please consider carefully what you put down the sinks and toilets, it will end up in our tile bed. All cleaners should be natural and environmentlly friendly. The absolute minimum amount of paper should be flushed.
